Centre County high school football teams landed a dozen players on All-State teams announced Thursday and Friday by the Pennsylvania Football Writers.

Half of those honorees came from State College, which has six players on the Class 6A team. They include junior quarterback Tommy Friberg, junior offensive lineman Ramsey Kifolo, sophomore athlete Dresyn Green, senior defensive back Keaton Ellis, sophomore defensive back Sammy Knipe, and senior athlete Cohen Russell.

Ellis, who signed with Penn State earlier this month and will begin his college career in January, also was named to USA Today’s All-USA Pennsylvania First Team on Thursday. He was joined on both the USA Today team and All-State team by fellow Penn State signee and defensive back Joey Porter Jr., of North Allegheny High School in Wexford.

Bellefonte is represented on the Class 4A All-State Team by senior linebacker Caleb Rockey. Clearfield quarterback Isaac Rumery, who will be a preferred walk-on at Penn State, also was named to the 4A team.

For Class 3A, Bald Eagle Area junior Kael Gardner and senior Blake Roberts were named All-State linebackers. Tyrone senior linebacker and Penn State preferred walk-on Denver Light also was named to the 3A team.

Penns Valley landed three players on the 2A All-State Team, with junior quarterback Aaron Tobias, junior tight end Logan Snyder and senior athlete Ryan Ripka receiving honors.
