Two people were taken to hospitals for suspected minor injuries after a crash that caused one of the vehicles involved to roll over early Monday morning in Walker Township, according to state police at Rockview.
It happened at about 4:30 a.m. Monday as both drivers were traveling westbound on Nittany Valley Drive near the Snydertown Road intersection. When the driver of a 2005 GMC Sierra attempted to pass a 2002 Dodge Ram in the eastbound lane, the driver of the Ram also traveled into the eastbound lane and struck the front left side of the Sierra, according to a crash report released on Tuesday.
The impact caused the Sierra to go off the road and strike a guard rail on the south side, then travel back across both lanes and hit a guard rail on the north side before coming to rest.
The Ram, meanwhile, struck the south guard rail and rolled onto its side, then slid about 60 yards before coming to rest.
A 32-year-old Reedsville man who was driving the Sierra was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Geisinger Medical in Danville to be treated for rib pain.
The driver of the Ram, a 28-year-old Mill Hall man, was taken by Pleasant Gap Fire Company EMS to Mount Nittany Medical Center for minor injuries, police wrote.
