Memorial Day Weekend will feature warm temperatures and a chance of severe weather, but that shouldn’t discourage you from charcoal, burgers and dogs.
‘Certainly the weekend will have a summery feel to it,’ said Tom Kines, who has been with AccuWeather since 1983. ‘Not only is it gonna be warm, but humidity will be noticeable. I don’t think unbearable, but so early in the season, we’re not quite accustomed to the humidity yet.’
AccuWeather forecasts temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It handicaps an afternoon shower or thunderstorm at 40-50 percent each day.
‘I’d be surprised if we made it through the whole weekend without seeing a thunderstorm,’ Kines said. ‘At some point, it’s pretty likely. The odds are probably better maybe on Monday.’
But …
‘Will it rain all day? No,’ Kines said. ‘if you have outdoor plans, I wouldn’t be cancelling them yet.’
