The day won’t start out sunny, but by kickoff, that’ll be a different story, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Andy Mussoline.

Mussoline says Saturday morning will start off cloudy with some patchy drizzle in the State College area. The temperature will climb into the low 60s by late morning and in the afternoon, the clouds will start to clear.

“We do expect those clouds to break in the afternoon and we expect some sunshine and a pretty nice day by game time,” says Mussoline.

Penn State plays UMass at 4 p.m. and the kick off temperature is expected to be about 73 degrees. Fans can expect sun and a breeze through the game. And it will be dry.

“It’s looking great for the game tomorrow,” says Mussoline.

Saturday evening is also expected to be clear and dry with a low of 58 overnight.

Sunday will be a little less desirable with clouds increasing throughout the day and showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. The high will be around 74.

“It could be an unsettled afternoon on Sunday across the area,” Mussoline says.
