With a warm November in the books, State College residents can look forward to another mild month.

With 120 Novembers on record, this November will most likely end up in the top five warmest, AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines said.

The high temperatures of the month were in the top five and the lows were the second warmest recorded.

The average temperature of the month was 46.4 degrees, unseasonably high for November.

Don’t get your hats and gloves out just yet, because December is expected to be warmer than usual as well.

“Above normal temperatures are expected for the month,” Kines said. “There certainly will be some chilly days but the mild days will outweigh those.”

As for snow, there may be a few inches in the middle of the month and then again at the end of the month after Christmas, Kines said. Some rain is expected, but nothing unusual.

Looking further into the winter, the mild weather is likely to continue into the rest of the season with January temperatures predicted to be above normal, and the winter as a whole is not expected to have long periods of very cold temperatures.
