Alternative Christmas Fair Offers Different Ways to Give

There are many non-traditional ways to acknowledge the holiday season. 



This Sunday, the University Baptist and Brethren Church will be holding their Alternative Christmas Fair, offering people the opportunity to give holiday gifts of charitable donations.



The fair is interfaith and welcomes everyone, and will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, located at 411 S. Burrowes Street in State College.



Baked goods and a soup and barbecue lunch will be offered.   There will also be a Children’s Festival and Alternative Christmas Store.  Certificates will be given for Hannukah and Christmas gift-giving.



Participating organizations for the event include: Bread for the World; Centre
Volunteers in Medicine; Centre Wildlife; CentrePeace, Church World
Service; ClearWater Conservancy; Food Bank; Friendship Tutoring;
Habitat for Humanity; Heifer Project; Hope for Kids; House of Care;
Interfaith Mission; Park Forest Day Nursery; PAWS; Meals on Wheels; Red
Cross Disaster Relief; Women’s Resource Center; Youth Service Bureau;
and Alternatives in Community Justice.
