Police are investigating an armed robbery in Patton Township. The robbery happened Wednesday afternoon at a home in Fredericksburg Court. That’s in the Woodycrest area.
The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded cash from a resident. Patton Township Police Chief John Petrick says, “The suspect did take a significant amount of money from the individual and fled the scene.”
Police are treating this as a serious crime. Petrick says, “Anytime we have an incident involving a gun there is always cause for concern.” It’s not clear yet whether the victim knew the robber.
Investigators say the gun-toting suspect was wearing a white tee-shirt and dark-colored pants.
The door to the home was unlocked when the robber entered. Chief Petrick this shows why residents need to be vigilant and always lock their doors.
If you have any information about the crime please contact Patton Township police at (800) 479-0050 or police@twp.patton.pa.us.
