Six months after a Penn State student was found murdered in his Patton Township townhouse, case officials say they are close to making an arrest.

In June of this year, 23-year-old Langston Carraway was found stabbed to death inside his residence.  Officials have been reviewing forensic evidence from the “gruesome” crime scene since that time, and little information has been voluntarily released to the public.

Now, Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira says he’s hopeful that an arrest will take place in the near future.  Prosecutors say they are close to charging the suspect, but the exact time frame has not been indicated to the public.

Earlier in the case, investigators called Lavon Chisley a person of interest in the case after his actions following the murder led to suspicion.  The former Nittany Lion football player did not attend Chisley’s funeral, despite being friends with him, and left the area shortly after the incident.  Police have not said that he is a murder suspect, but his attorney has publicly asserted her belief that he will be arrested and charged with homicide.
