Diners at one local restaurant on Monday will have the opportunity to support artists and their mission of preserving the region’s farmland.
The Field Burger & Tap at Toftrees will be joined by the Farmland Preservation Artists (FPA) of Central Pennsylvania from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for The Field Gives Back, with art on display and for purchase and a percentage of The Field’s proceeds from the day going to FPA.
All of the art on display will be for sale, and FPA artists donate a percentage of their sales to Centre County Farmland Trust to support farmland preservation in Centre County.
FPA of Central Pennsylvania was created in 2005 as a joint enterprise of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and the Centre County Farmland Trust.
The artists work in a variety of media to portray the beauty of the rural landscape, the local farms and the agricultural products they yield; highlight farm life, local food markets and economy; illustrate the issues facing farmers that affect the community; increase support for farmland preservation through the exhibition and sale of art; and promote the goals of the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and the Centre County Farmland Trust.
