Police say a car ran a red light and plowed into a CATA bus in State College. No serious injuries were reported. The wreck happened just before noon Wednesday, near the intersection of Hastings Road and University Drive.
A black 2003 Toyota Corolla ran a red light on University Drive, and collided with the bus, which was attempting to make a turn onto Hastings Road, according to State College Police Department Sgt. Todd Scholton.
All passengers on the CATA bus were unharmed. The car’s driver complained of minor injuries, Scholton said during a phone conversation.
The intersection was blocked off for approximately 50 minutes as debris was cleared from the middle of University Drive. Both vehicles were towed away, but it appears the car received the brunt of the collision.
