The Centre Area Transportation Authority has appointed Doug Keith as its director of finance.
He began in the position on July 17. As finance director, Keith is responsible for CATA’s grants CATA’s grants, procurement and capital programs and for establishing and maintaining accounting and financial systems. He oversees annual budget development and risk management and is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal finance regulations, as well as advising the board of directors and staff on CATA financial matters.
Keith was most recently executive director of Williamsport Municipal Water and Williamsport Sanitary Authorities, where he previously was director of finance. Prior to that he was plant controller for The Paper Magic Group, Inc., in Scranton and throughout his career he has held multiple positions in finance, accounting and business operations for various companies.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in quantitative business analysis from Penn State.
“I speak for the CATA Board of Directors and staff when I say we are excited and fortunate to have someone with such a strong background join CATA’s management team,” CATA general manager Louwana Oliva said in a release. “Doug brings to CATA financial expertise that will further strengthen the organization and help to enhance the services CATA provides.’
