In just 36 hours, the Centre Foundation’s Centre Gives initiative raised more than $415,000 for local nonprofit organizations.

The inaugural event, in which donors logged onto CentreGives.org, ran from 6 a.m. Wednesday through 6 p.m. Thursday.

Donors gave more than 2,800 gifts to raise the money, which was allocated to 74 nonprofits who meet a range of needs in the community, including saving the environment, assisting those who need shelter or medical care, animal caregivers and more.

In addition, the Centre Foundation will match funds up to $100,000, which will be distributed based on the amount raised by each organization.

‘We are so pleased to see how positively everyone has responded to Centre Gives,’ Centre Foundation program assistant Erin Rowley said. ‘Our community has overwhelmed us with its generosity.’
