Old Main Frame Shop & Gallery of State College will introduce upcoming local artist Melinda Harr Curley in her first solo exhibit Blue White weekend, April 17 and 18.

“Curley’s original, abstract, acrylic paintings impress us with their bold and fluid brushstrokes combined with vibrant choice of color,” says Marie Librizzi, President of Old Main Frame.

The emotional impact of her artwork immediately draws you into the joy, mystery and power of her paintings rooted in natural rhythms and patterns, Librizzi adds. “We are excited to share this imaginative and compelling art.”

Her artwork has been exhibited in numerous juried art shows in State College and has received second place and honorable mention awards. She was also invited to participate as an exhibiting artist at a San Francisco conference.

Curley holds a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from New England College, Master of Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Arts in general arts and sciences, also from Penn State.

A reception opens the show from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17, at Old Main Frame Shop. The exhibit runs through Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. For a sampling of Curley’s abstract paintings and detailed show information, please visit www.oldmainframe.com.
