The Democratic and Republican parties of Centre County have announced their candidate visits for the remaining days of the county Grange Fair and Encampment, off state Route 45 in Centre Hall.
Candidates for elected office are regulars at the fair, where they meet and mingle with locals, campaign and gauge public opinion.
The remaining scheduled visits are outlined below. The parties host candidates at their respective booths, near the fair headquarters building.
County Democrats
- Monday: Incumbent state Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Rush Township (77th House District), 3 p.m. to close
- Tuesday: Incumbent state Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Lock Haven (76th House District), 3 p.m. to close
- Wednesday: Challenging candidate Michael Pipe, facing incumbent U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘G.T.’ Thompson for the Fifth Congressional District seat in the U.S. House; no particular time specified
- Challenging candidate Jon Eich, facing incumbent state Sen. Jake Corman for the state Senate seat that represents the 34th District, visited earlier in the fair
County Republicans
- Monday: Incumbent state Sen. Jake Corman, R-Bellefonte (34th Senate District); expected to be present much of the day
- Tuesday: Challenging candidate Joyce Haas, facing incumbent state Rep. Scott Conklin for the 77th District state House seat; expected to be present much of the day
- Wednesday: Incumbent U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘G.T.’ Thompson, R-Howard (Fifth Congressional District); expected to be present much of the day
- Challenging candidate Daryl Schafer, facing incumbent state Rep. Mike Hanna for the House seat that represents the 76th District, visited earlier in the fair
