Centre County officials continue to make plans to continue county court proceedings as the trial for Jerry Sandusky continues to draw near.
Leaders in Centre County are continuing to develop plans to move some county court cases unrelated to the Sandusky trial out of Bellefonte and to the Penn State University campus.
Centre County commissioners said moving the cases would ease some congestion in the Bellefonte area, which has been swarmed by the media for previous Sandusky hearings.
Even as officials continue to develop plans, commissioners questioned whether or not there will be a trial for Sandusky.
Officials have approved using Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law as an alternative court site to help take care of the daily legal matters that bring people to court.
Courtroom one at the courthouse in Bellefonte will be the site for a Sandusky trial. County officials said the reason the law school site is not being considered for the Sandusky trial is the belief the law school building is not big enough.
The Sandusky trial is scheduled to begin June 5.
