Part of East College Avenue in downtown State College was closed on Thursday morning as crews worked to remove a downed tree.
The uprooted elm tree near the edge of Old Main Lawn fell into the 100 block of East College Avenue, resulting in the road being closed between South Allen and South Pugh streets at about 7:30 a.m. until late Thursday morning
While Penn State Office of Physical Plant and State College Public Works worked to clear the area, CATA Bus and Campus Shuttle stops in the affected area were closed.
