A feature-length documentary on craft beer in Pennsylvania will be screened at an event in State College this week.

Provisions Magazine will host a showing of “Poured in Pennsylvania,” from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Black Sun Studio, 700 E. Beaver Ave.

The event will also include beer from two Centre County breweries featured in the film, Otto’s Pub & Brewery and Elk Creek Cafe & Aleworks, as well as wood-fired pizza by Thomas Novosel of Happy Valley Chef and popcorn by Revival Kitchen.

Produced by Harrisburg-based GK Visual, ‘Poured in Pennsylvania’ takes viewers from some of the country’s oldest breweries to taprooms that are changing the landscape of small towns across the Commonwealth. Along the way, the film looks at the importance of an ancient but newly redeveloped industry and its impact on Pennsylvania.

“Our team spent the last year crisscrossing the state to capture the craft beer story in Pennsylvania,” said Nate Kresge, GK Visual co-owner and the film’s executive producer, before the film’s premiere in 2018. “We’re excited to share this story with everyone who helped make it, as well as Pennsylvania’s growing and dedicated craft beer community.”

Host Provisions Magazine, which debuts its inaugural print issue in June, was created to highlight food and drink in Pennsylvania communities.

‘We founded Provisions to help connect and publicize these pockets of amazing food and drink culture across the state,” said editor in chief Maggie Anderson. “Events like this allow us to showcase some really great Pennsylvania products paired together.’

Tickets for the screening event are $35 plus fees and are available at provisionsmag.com/poured-in-pa.
