The Faculty Focus feature is a new, weekly question-and-answer spotlight on the administrators, instructors and all Penn State employees who keep the university running.
This week, Laura spoke with Michael Mann, a professor of Meteorology in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and is the Director of the Earth Systems Science Center. Mann has become, what he called, a ‘reluctant and accidental’ public figure in the world of climate change research due in large part to his discovery of the ‘hockey stick’ theory.
In the first video, Mann discusses his background, how he came to Penn State and his book, ‘The Hockey Stick and Climate Wars: Dispatches from the Front Lines.’
In the second video, Mann talks about the impact climate change will have on the future, if mankind continues on the same track it has been on.
A veteran researcher down to a climate novice can understand and will want to keep on listening to what Mann has to say. Check it out!
