BELLEFONTE —Held annually on the last weekend in October, this year’s Talleyrand Fall Fest is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Bellefonte’s Talleyrand Park, offering a day filled with a variety of family activities.

This is the first year the Bellefonte Sunrise Rotary Club, in cooperation with Historic Bellefonte, Inc., is responsible for the event.

“We actually planned the whole Fall Fest last year, but then a very hard rain forced us to cancel,’ Jan Smith, co-chair of Bellefonte Rotary, said. ‘We are hoping the weather cooperates this year for what promises to be an enjoyable family day and a good fundraiser.”

Smith said there are several events planned for youngsters, including a corn dig, face painting, football toss and tic tac toe games. Kids can craft slime spiders and decorate pumpkins, or crawl through a straw tunnel. Hayrides will add to the enjoyment of the day.

A kid’s wristband ($5) is required to participate in activities. Those participating may pick up free pumpkins, tote bags and candy bags at the event. The wristband purchase also allows for the child to receive a kid’s meal coupon.

For adults, the Fall Fest committee has arranged for craft and booth vendors, a raffle, a craft beverage court, food vendors and a DJ. Adult taste testing tickets will be on sale for $5 and those interested must be 21 years of age.

Guests include Smokey Bear and local pumpkin carver Kevin Freet.

Activities in the park will begin following the Halloween Parade.

The Halloween Parade will form at Bellefonte Elementary at 11 a.m. and end at the Gazebo in Talleyrand Park. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., High Street will be closed from Water to Potter streets (reserved for food vendors and the disbanding of the parade) and a section of Potter Street from CVS to JJ Powell is reserved for hayrides.

Food vendors for the Fall Fest include Bonnie Blue, Brazilian Munchies, Gunzy’s Soups, King’s Funnel Cakes, Miller’s Caramel Popcorn, Rosie’s Pierogies, Snyder’s Fries, Scott’s Roasting, Scott’s Sausage and Weiner Wagon.

Craft and booth vendors include Beth and Son Gems, Carla’s Crafts, Confer’s Jewelry, Courtney’s Collar Creations, Create with Heart, Driftwood Sculptures by Brittany, Empty Attic, Every Bead is Awesome, Gold Frog, Happiness Discovered, Hoffman Handicrafts/AMRitter Artistries, Mar-Kayla’s Kandles, Mountain Meadows Soaps, The Pot Lady, SarahSquared, Shiplap Shack Halloween Shop, Simply Primitive, Stitchery & Crafts Galore, Stitches by Shari, Ten Thousand Villages, Ties to Nature and Walnut Ridge Designs.

Good eating is certain with Christ Community Church and C3Kids’ Cotton Candy and Popcorn, Duck Donuts, Goot Essa Cheeses, MountNitaNee Kombucha and Piper’s Peck.

Other businesses included in the lineup are Mary Kay, Pink Zebra, Tastefully Simple & Ruby Ribbon and Usborne Books.

CATA, 2020 Census Recruitment, CPI, Renewal by Andersen and State College Roller Derby will be set up and ready to explain their purposes and what they have to offer the public.

“We’ve all worked well together, but we could not have done the Fall Fest without all our sponsors,” said Cindy Stern, cochair. “Please support these local businesses.”
