Reports that Bill O’Brien is working on a deal to leave Penn State to become head coach for the Houston Texans has lit up social media. Fans are posting comments in bunches.
Many people appear upset by the possibility that O’Brien might leave after just two years with the Nittany Lions.
Others say O’Brien has done a great job and has earned the thanks of the Nittany Nation.
Still others are bringing humor to the discussion. Here is a sampling of some of those comments:
On Facebook:
John Tull: “Bill has done an awesome job under crazy and tragic circumstances. If he leaves we all need to wish him good luck and rally around the new guy. The two plus years of bickering must stop. PSU fans need to stay positive, band together and move forward.” #futureisbright
On Twitter:
The days of head football coaches staying as long Joe Paterno did are over. Nature of the business.

So rumor has it that Bill O’Brien is leaving. You can’t blame the guy. He’s always wanted to be an NFL coach.

I’ll give one of you sports guys a dollar if you ask BOB during a press conference “Could you potentially coach PSU AND the Texans?”

One important aspect is that #PennState job once again very good one, not toxic like when OB was hired. Means candidate pool would be great.
