Ferguson Township residents were in for a shock early Wednesday morning when a woman appeared at multiple doorsteps covered in blood.

Police were called at shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning after receiving multiple reports regarding the woman, who was asking for help and saying that a man was trying to kill her.

Upon investigating the reports, police discovered that the woman was staying at her boyfriend’s residence on the 1400 block of North Allen Street and thought the room was on fire. She broke a window and crawled through it to escape the fire — which didn’t actually exist — and cut herself multiple times on the upper body in the process, according to a report from the police department.

A neighbor did assist the woman, who received further treatment after being transported by ambulance to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Police searched the residence, discovering ‘items that would be found in a small methamphetamine lab’ in the basement of the home.

‘These labs are very dangerous and can result in explosion, fire and toxic substance emissions,’ a press release from the police department said. ‘A specially trained team from the Pennsylvania State Police responded to further investigate and assessed that the residence was safe.’

Police said that the incident remains under investigation and that charged may be filed at a later time.
