Ferguson Township is inviting community feedback as it begins the search for its next manager.

A survey is now open for residents to help shape the future management of the township by providing input on characteristics, skills and leadership qualities desired in the municipality’s chief administrator.

“As the township continues to grow and thrive within the Centre Region, resident feedback will be an important component of the recruitment and selection process for this key leadership role,” the township wrote in a news release.

The survey, which is open through Feb.3, is “designed to be brief and accessible,” according to the township, and will help to inform the Board of Supervisors and recruitment consultant MGT Impact Solutions as the search moves forward.

As an alternative to taking the survey online, paper copies are also available in the lobby of the Ferguson Township Municipal Building, 3147 Research Drive.

The township manager oversees daily operations and staff, ensures delivery of municipal services and implements the policies of the Board of Supervisors.

Centrice Martin stepped down from the position at the end of her contract earlier in January after four years in the role.

The board appointed Tom King, the former State College police chief and assistant borough manager who most recently served as acting head of the Ferguson Township Police Department, as interim township manager effective Jan. 7.
