The Ferguson Township Planning Commission recommends the approval of two construction projects that are set to begin immediately. Commission members voted Monday night, during a scaled back session of their regular bimonthly meeting.
First up was the expansion of the Torron Centre located at Science Park Road and Pine Hall Road. The plan will add 11,000 square feet and 45 parking spaces to the office building. With minimal discussion, the plan was approved unanimously.
Next was a proposed expansion of the Centre Learning Community Charter School at 2643 West College Avenue. The school wants to add approximately 4,000 square feet to the existing structure which serves grades 5 though 8.
According to a school official in attendance, the expansion will add two new single-story classrooms in the southeast corner of the building. That plan also passed unanimously.
The projects will now need to be approved by the Township Board of Supervisors. The board will meet next Monday, July 1 in the municipal building.
