A flash flood watch continues on Thursday for much of Central Pennsylvania including all of Centre County.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into the evening on Thursday. That combined with the already saturated ground from rain throughout the week means flash flooding is possible when the heaviest rain falls.

The flash flood watch is in effect from noon Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday. A watch was previously issued for Wednesday afternoon and night

According to AccuWeather’s forecast for the State College area as of Thursday morning, showers in the morning are expected to give way to a few thunderstorms in the afternoon and early evening. Some may be severe with the possibility of hail, damaging winds and flooding. Later Thursday night scattered showers and storms are possible

After a week of on-and-off rain, the area is expected to get a reprieve for the weekend, with dry, mostly sunny conditions and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, according to AccuWeather
