A flood watch is in effect for much of central Pennsylvania, including Centre County, according to a post on AccuWeather.com.
The watch, declared by the National Weather Service, will remain in effect until midnight between Friday and Saturday.
Storm clouds could drop heavy rain — as much as one to 1.5 inches in a 12- to 18-hour period — on the region, the National Weather Service warned.
Combine that rain with melting snow, and localized flooding could develop, particularly along smaller creeks and in low-lying areas, according to the watch. Road closures are possible, it notes.
A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m., as well. Gusts may reach 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
