Former Nittany Lion receiver Allen Robinson will be missing out on some key preseason prep due to an injury and will be sidelined for an extended period according to NFL.com.
Robinson, who was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars, reportedly suffered a hamstring injury during camp in the past few days.
As a result, Robinson will likely miss the Jaguars’ preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Aug. 8. Robinson was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
The news is a tough blow for Robinson who has earned praise from Jaguar execs for his strong play in camp since being drafted according to a Florida Times-Union report.
“He can take advantage of smaller corners,” Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said. “He uses his body really well. He catches the ball well outside his cylinder. He can run after the catch very well. When he gets the ball he usually runs North and South.”
The Jaguars have had issues all summer with keeping receivers healthy and ready to go. Even if Robinson misses the next two weeks his ability should get him back in the mix very quickly.
