Andrew Long, a former Penn State wrestler who went to trial for assaulting a woman when she was sleeping, was sentenced to one year in jail on Thursday.
Long will not be sent to state prison, though, and was not assessed to be a sexually violent predator, but he will be registered for life on the Megan’s Law database, according to the Centre Daily Times.
Long took a plea deal with the Centre County District Attorney’s Office, requiring him to plead guilty to aggravated indecent assault in return for the dismissal of an attempted rape charge.

- Penn State Police are investigating a report of rape reported by a university employee on Wednesday.
According to the university police daily log, at 1:14 p.m Wednesday, a Penn State employee reported a sexual assault occurred in a residence hall, though police did not list the exact building.
Police said the assailant was known.
No further information could be released regarding the incident pending investigation.
