Revelers and merrymakers might want to bundle up before heading out to ring in the New Year.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are going to be down right cold, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Samuhel.

The high for New Year’s Eve will be close to 30 degrees with a low overnight of about 17 degrees.

At midnight, the temperature will be about 22 degrees.

“There will also be a breeze, so it’s just going to feel really cold,” says Samuhel. “There’s going to be some snow in the air, too.”

The snow isn’t expected to accumulate more than a coating.

New Year’s Day is expected to be cloudy with possible flurries and a high of 28 degrees.

AccuWeather is also keeping a close eye on Thursday’s forecast. There are indications a significant snowstorm could hit the State College area.
