Hall of Fame Boxer Mike Tyson to Perform at the BJC

The infamous Hall of Fame boxer who has a taste for beating up others, video games, and biting off ears, is bringing his one-man live show to the Bryce Jordan Center on October 25.

The show — which debuted in 2012 — stars former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson.

Tyson teamed up with director Spike Lee for this three-month, 36-city show, which originally aired on HBO in late 2013. Since then, Tyson has written a book aptly titled Undisputed Truth and is rebooting the tour, with Penn State as its first announced destination.

The show is described as “a rare, personal look inside the life and mind of the one of the most complicated men ever to wear the heavyweight crown.” Complicated indeed, as Tyson’s reputation depends on who you talk to. He was convicted of rape and served prison time in 1992, but Generation Y-ers probably know him best from his cameo in The Hangover movie.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets range from $43.30 to $96.40. There’s no word yet on if students will get a discounted UPAC rate, but we will update when more information is provided.
