Third-party presidential candidate Jill Stein will hold a rally at Penn State on Wednesday in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Freeman Auditorium. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during which time Stein will share her policy positions and encourage Penn Staters and others in attendance to volunteer to join her in her campaign for the Oval Office.
Stein announced her campaign in February and was later selected as the Green Party’s presidential nominee. She has since selected Ajamu Baraka as her running mate. Neither Stein nor Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson qualified for the first general election debate, which will be held on Sept. 26.
Stein’s visit will mark the second appearance by a potential candidate for the 2016 election cycle. In April, Bernie Sanders held a rally in Rec Hall. Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea also stopped in State College earlier this month to rally on her mother’s behalf.
