Kenny Chesney to Kick Off 2023 Tour at Bryce Jordan Center

Another country music star is coming to the Bryce Jordan Center in 2023.

Six-time Grammy nominee Kenny Chesney announced on Monday that he’s bringing his upcoming “I Go Back” tour to Penn State’s arena on Saturday, March 25. The country star’s concert in Happy Valley will mark the first stop on his spring tour.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. ahead of the 7:30 p.m. concert. Country pop singer Kelsea Ballerini will open for Chesney.

“I Go Back 2023 is going to be so awesome,” Chesney said in a statement. “To be able to take this music to where it comes from? To have Kelsea Ballerini out there with me, maybe even singing ‘half of my hometown’? It’s going to be a tour unlike any other – and I can’t wait.”

Ticket sales for Chesney’s concert will launch at 10 a.m. on Dec. 2. Prices range from $39 to $139, according to the Bryce Jordan Center’s event page.

Discounted student ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Chesney’s 2023 tour will stop at more than 20 venues throughout the country. An April 8 concert in Wilkes-Barre marks the country star’s only other Pennsylvania performance scheduled for the upcoming circuit.

Chesney is no stranger to performing at the Bryce Jordan Center. He last played in Happy Valley in 2004 alongside Keith Urban and Dierks Bently, according to an online concert archive. He also brought his “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem” tour to the arena in 2002.

Chesney’s upcoming tour is named after his hit 2004 single, “I Go Back.” The Tennessee native released his most recent album, “Here and Now,” in 2020.

Following Monday’s tour announcement, Chesney now joins a packed slate of upcoming Bryce Jordan Center acts, including 2023 shows by Carrie UnderwoodBruce SpringsteenJourney and Thomas Rhett.
