After that, he became a career representative with the job service office for the State of Pennsylvania and the first personnel director for Centre County.
Lutz also spent 17 years working for Supelco in Pleasant Gap, and has been in the staffing business ever since. For the past three years he has been the co-owner of The HR Office in State College, along with partners Jeffrey Krauss and Sandra Cramer.

As a staffing service, the HR Office offers services such as recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating job candidates, matching people with personality inventories, and reference and background checking.
