A man was inadvertently locked inside the Subway restaurant located at 100 S. Burrowes St. according to State College police.

They said that he damaged property inside the restaurant at approximately 5:41 a.m. on Jan. 23, although it is unclear what he did for the prior hour after the restaurant was closed by employees.

The male damaged several doors and locks and broke the toilet in the public restroom located on the first floor of the building,’ police said. ‘The store video surveillance showed the male walking through the business and eventually leaving through the front door. At this time, nothing is believed to be stolen.’

The detail on his exit is unclear as to whether or not the front door was in fact open the entire time, or if he forced it open while damaging the sandwich chain shop’s doors.

Police have determined from video surveillance tapes that the perpetrator is a white male with dark hair, approximately 5-foot-10 with a stocky build. You can see an image captured from the surveillance footage above.

As always, police ask that anyone with information on the incident or anyone who may recognize the man in the photo contact them via phone at 814-234-7150, via e-mail, or by submitting an anonymous tip through their website.
