One person was flown to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in State College, according to borough police.
A 34-year-old man struck a traffic light pole and a building on the 100 block of North Atherton Street at about 3 a.m., police wrote in a media release.
The man was flown by helicopter to Penn Highlands DuBois to be treated for unspecified injuries.
North Atherton Street was closed between West College Avenue and Railroad Avenue during the emergency response and crash reconstruction, according to PennDOT and dispatch reports. Centre Region Code was called to assess the building, though its condition was not immediately disclosed.
Centre LifeLink EMS, Penn State EMS, Alpha Fire Company, Penn State police and Patton Township police also assisted at the scene.
