Mom Prom 2014 is a go.
The Fourth annual event is for all ladies over 21. You do not have to be a mom, just a lady looking for a fun evening to help raise money for the American Cancer Society.
You can come in old prom dresses, old bridesmaid dresses, your wedding dress, or something new and fancy. It can be from any decade as well.
The event will benefit the Tara’s Angels Relay for Life team. The Mom Prom, along with other fundraisers, helped the team raise over $10,000 last year for the American Cancer Society.
Tara’s Angels has been raising money for the Relay for Life for 13 years. The team was created one year after team captain, Tara Ripka, was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 27. Her family and friends commit themselves each year to helping raise money for the ACS to help find that cure.
Mom Prom will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at Damon’s Grill in State College. Tickets are $25 each. Attendees must RSVP by May 12. The event will feature dinner, dancing, raffles and a cash bar.
Those who do not want dinner can pay $10 for late admission.
