It’s campaign season in Happy Valley, and judging by the first couple weeks, it appears that no other Board of Trustees candidates will face the same opposition as incumbents Paul Suhey and Stephanie Deviney.
This morning, a billboard that reads “Suhey & Deviney refused to defend our Penn State culture. Refuse to vote for them,” replaced a pro-Paterno message in the parking lot near the intersection of Beaver Ave. and Pugh St.
It comes to no one’s surprise to discover that the group who commissioned the billboard is Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship (PS4RS).
Incumbent candidate Suhey has sat on the board since 1998 and Deviney, now at the end of her first term on the board, is currently serving as vice-chair to Keith Masser.
These blue background billboards have become a somewhat familiar sight in Central Pennsylvania. Three similar billboards popped up in September. A few weeks later, another group of three billboards displaying six rotating messages appeared in the Harrisburg area (sponsored by PSUTruthville).
