Mark VanOuse was outside the Wal-Mart on the Benner Pike when he spotted several multiple rainbows lingering together aloft Sunday evening, he told StateCollege.com.
The grouping — apparently an example of supernumerary rainbows — included five rainbows stacked together at one point, said VanOuse, of the State College area. He said he saw seven rainbows overall.
VanOuse snapped several photos with his cell-phone camera and sent them to StateCollege.com. They’re posted in the gallery to the right.
The Benner Pike Wal-Mart is in College Township near the Nittany Mall.
