For Penn State fans, this is definitely a time to be happy that they’re not Number 1!
Forbes.com has just released its annual ranking of most expensive college football tickets, and the Nittany Lions just barely cracked the top twenty.
The dubious honor of most expensive college football tickets goes to the Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame’s tickets cost $293 each — and that’s the average cost.
The SEC has the most schools on the list with seven.
The Big Ten is second with five.
Penn state is ranked 18th. And that’s part of a downward trend. Forbes says Penn State was ranked No. 6 in 2011 and No. 12 in 2012.
The most expensive game on the schedule will be Penn State’s match up against Michigan. It will be the Wolverines first trip to Beaver Stadium since Joe Paterno departed. Forbes.com says tickets for the Michigan game sold for an average $267.
The least expensive game at Beaver Stadium is against Eastern Michigan with seats selling for an average price of $75.
