Goreham Goes to Washington: State College Mayor Elizabeth Goreham, Borough Manager Tom Fountaine and four members of borough council are in D.C. visiting Rep. Glenn Thompson to discuss issues affecting State College, The Daily Collegian reported.
The group hopes to address a ‘Local Jobs for America’ proposal, which could offer the borough part of a $75 billion grant for borough employees. It also wants to gather the funds for a ‘green’ service building.
Gay Fraternity Added: Penn State’s Interfraternity Council officially recognized Delta Lambda Phi last night. The fraternity, which is for ‘gay and progressive men,’ will earn chapter status in the fall, the Collegian reported.
Comedy Show: Comedian Gabriel Iglesias will perform for Penn State students April 1 at Eisenhower Auditorium, the Student Programming Association announced. Tickets will be free with a student ID.
