A portion of Interstate 80 in Centre County is closed following a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon.
I-80 eastbound is shut down between exit 158 at Milesburg and exit 163 at Jacksonville/Howard, Centre County 9-1-1 reported on Facebook at about 3:45 p.m.
“This closure will be very extensive as the incident is ongoing,” according to the post. “Please adjust your travels.”
The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. at eastbound mile marker 163.3 in Marion Township and involved several commercial and passenger vehicles, including a tractor-trailer that was on fire, according to dispatch reports. Smoke could be seen in the area on PennDOT cameras.
State police, multiple fire and EMS companies and a LifeFlight helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
