A 71-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was struck by a driver Tuesday afternoon in Ferguson Township.
The driver of a vehicle traveling westbound on West College Avenue turned left onto Bristol Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. and struck the woman, who was walking in the crosswalk, Ferguson Township Police Chief John Petrick said.
The woman was flown by medevac helicopter to UPMC Altoona. Petrick had no further information on her condition.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing and the cause has not yet been determined, Petrick said.
Centre LifeLink EMS responded to the scene and Alpha Fire Company established the helicopter landing zone at Montressor Field.
