The Penn State men’s basketball team won its Big Ten season opener Monday, topping Indiana on the road, 69-60.

‘Senior Jeff Brooks was all over the floor and played with a high level of energy,’ Daily Collegian reporter Alex Angert wrote in his game story, posted on the newspaper’s website.

Angert noted that the Penn State team will see ‘no more cupcake games’ on its schedule this year.

In other Penn State basketball news, the Collegian is reporting that freshman Taran Buie has been suspended. Here’s a report on that by Emily Kaplan.
