Luke Graham, a reserve offensive lineman, has decided to leave the Penn State football team.
A team spokesman also said Graham will remain enrolled at the university.
Graham, a redshirt sophomore, is allowed to remain on scholarship throughout his tenure at Penn State, according to the NCAA rules set following the sanctions levied against the program July 23.
No reason was given for Graham’s departure. He is the 11th player to leave the team since the sanctions were announced.
Last week, redshirt sophomore tight end Dakota Royer left the team because of ‘circumstances beyond my control.’
‘You’d have to ask him about circumstances. You’d have to ask him,’ head coach Bill O’Brien said. ‘I respect Dakota, think he’s a great kid. He’s just decided not to play football anymore. I’ll keep the conversation between him and me.’
Penn State is continuing preseason camp this week. Saturday, the team held its first full-pads practice. It opens the season Sept. 1 against Ohio at Beaver Stadium.
