CHICAGO — Word broke Wednesday afternoon that star running back Silas Redd and two other Penn State football players will not attend Big Ten Media Days here Thursday and Friday.
ESPN.com’s Big Ten blogging duo of Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett first reported the change of plans. Offensive lineman John Urschel and defensive tackle Jordan Hill were also scheduled to appear at the two-day event.
Head coach Bill O’Brien will still attend.
Redd is caught up in a firestorm of speculation as to whether he will remain at Penn State amid significant NCAA sanctions. ESPN has reported USC has courted the junior tailback, who is still mulling the decision on a day several members of the football team pledged their commitment to remain in blue and white.
Redd was not among them.
