Penn State center Michal Menet announced Tuesday morning that he intends to return for his senior season.
“I am not ready for my time with this football family to end yet and continue to enjoy every minute with my brothers,” Menet said on Twitter. “I feel I have unfinished business to take care of, including completing my Penn State degree.”
During his sophomore season Menet made 12 starts at center and has started every game during his junior season as well. He is one of eight captains on Penn State’s 2019 roster
Menet joins redshirt senior Steven Gonzalez and redshirt junior Will Fries as the most experienced linemen on Penn State’s offensive front. The decision was nearly made for him years ago as Penn State battled an injury-ridden offensive linen 2016, nearly opting to burn Menet’s redshirt. The decision not to, pays its dividends now.
Penn State joins tight end Pat Freiermuth as the second draft-eligible player to announce this intentions to return for the 2020 season in the past few days. The Nittany Lions await the decision of wideout KJ Hamler, who is eligible for the NFL Draft following the season.
