When the dust cleared, 21,200 tickets were gone in just a matter of a few minutes.
For Penn State football it’s another student section ticket sellout.
As usual, the tickets sold the fastest with underclassmen — highlighted by an eight-minute sellout of the sophomore allotment. The sophomore and freshmen combined to sell out their allotments in 25 minutes on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
“Our student section is unrivaled! We have the No. 1 student section in the country for a reason and this week’s sell out is just another example,” James Franklin said. “To have more than 21,000 students packing that end zone and supporting our guys is a true home field advantage. We expect to hear from the rest of the Nittany Nation and see 107K strong at each of our family reunions this season.”
The Nittany Lions will host a home schedule that includes four Big Ten opponents – Rutgers (Sept. 19, 8 p.m.), Indiana (Oct. 10 – Homecoming, noon), Illinois (Oct. 31) and Michigan (Nov. 21 – Senior Day). Penn State also hosts Buffalo (Sept. 12, noon), San Diego State (Sept. 26) and Army (Oct. 3) in non-conference play.
For students who were not able to purchase season tickets during the sale, Student TicketExchange will be available throughout the season for home games.
Student ticket away game information will also be released closer to the start of the season.
