Penn State Police are investigating the report of a rape that occurred between 11 p.m. on Thursday and 5 a.m. on Friday in the Pollock or South residence halls on campus.
Police said the assailant, a student, is known to the individual who was subjected to a forcible sexual assault. Police did not release the gender of either individual or whether the victim is a student.
According to police, it can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the Penn State community.
Police advise:
- Do not walk alone; call 814-865-WALK for a free security escort.
- Report suspicious behavior to University Police immediately.
- If you feel you are in an unsafe environment, get to a safe place immediately and call for help.
Anyone with information that might be helpful in the investigation can contact Penn State Police at 814-863-1111, at 26 Eisenhower Parking Deck or anonymously online by clicking on ‘Silent Witness.’
Information can also be reported to the Centre County Crime Stoppers at 877-99CRIME. A cash reward of up to $1,000 could be awarded to those who provide information that leads to an arrest.
