Two Penn State Students are sitting in a county jail for their alleged roles in an alleged burglary and assault.
State College police arrested Samuel Adams and Sean Elliott, both 21 and from Harrisburg, following an incident that occurred about 2 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of East College Avenue.
Authorities allege Adams and Elliott were inside their apartment building when they threw a 40-ounce bottle of beer at their neighbor’s front door smashing it, according to the criminal complaint.
When the male victim opened the door and saw the mess, the victim reportedly told the defendants to clean it up.
At that point, Elliott allegedly became argumentative, pushed the victim and then the victim pushed back. Police allege Elliott and Adams then forced their way into the victim’s apartment, shoving the victim in the process.
The defendants then allegedly proceeded to physically assault the victim, including choking him. At one point, Adams allegedly shouted death threats toward the victim in front of other witnesses. Adams also allegedly shouted obscenities at the victim’s girlfriend, telling her in part to “shut up and stop crying.”
When the female victim fled to a bedroom, Elliott allegedly followed her. The female victim reportedly told police “she was scared for her life.”
Police say the victims told the defendants to leave the apartment roughly 50 times.
When the defendants did leave, the male victim said he was calling the police. Adams and Elliott then allegedly kicked and punched the victim’s door while screaming and making threats.
The male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to his face.
Police charged both defendants with burglary and simple assault. They are both being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail each.
