Penn State students are joining forces this week in the name of entrepreneurship.
Students from across the state will hold a summit to discuss their entrepreneurial experiences on April 15 in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Alumni Hall. The goal of the summit is to not only have students share their personal testimonies, but gain advice through listening to others students as well.
The morning will begin with six-minute presentations from students at commonwealth campuses about their entrepreneurial experiences. In addition to the commonwealth presentations, there are several student startup founders who have been invited to speak. They will discuss the challenges they faced while balancing the time commitments that come with being a student and entrepreneur as well. Finally, there will also be a “Fireside Chat” with some important entrepreneurial administrators who are knowledgeable about the field.
The event is hosted by Invent Penn State and Innoblue. Doors will open and registration will occur between 8:30-9 a.m. outside of Alumni Hall. The event is scheduled to run until 11:30-12:30 p.m.
Students who don’t attend University Park are encouraged to take advantage of the events occurring on Friday and throughout the weekend. This includes but is not limited to attending some of the lectures given during IST Startup Week, staying till Saturday to watch the Blue White Game or participating in the seventh annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium run.
