The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has restored regular speed limits on two interstates in Central Pennsylvania after temporarily reducing them on Monday because of winter weather.
Speed limits were reduced to 45 miles per hour from 9:40 a.m. to 1 p.m. on I-80 in Clearfield, Centre and Clinton counties and the entire length of I-99 in Centre, Blair and Bedford counties.
I-80 westbound between exit 147 at Snow Shoe and exit 133 at Kylertown also reopened after being closed for several hours because of multiple crashes.
Centre County and most of Central Pennsylvania are under a winter weather advisory until 3 p.m. on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Snow will change over to freezing rain, with 1-2 inches of snow accumulation and one-tenth of an inch of ice expected.
According to AccuWeather, temperatures in the State College area are expected to rise into the low 40s heading into the late afternoon and evening, with light rain in the forecast.
